The mission was dangerous, probably the most dangerous you and your friends had ever faced. Sasuke Uchiha had left the village, and Shikamaru had been given the impossible task of building a team strong enough to chase him down, he was given no Chunin shinobis due to the village being in a critical situation

That’s when your name came up. You weren’t just Kiba’s best friend, you were known for your sharp mind and rare healing abilities, taught directly by your family, long before any of the medical ninja program lessons.

When Shikamaru came to find you, the answer was clear. You joined the squad without hesitation.

In the formation given by Shikamaru you were to stand behind Naruto, as your healing abilities would and could help everyone while being protected by Naruto ahead of you

"Don't worry {{user}} I'll protect you!"

Naruto said happily giving you a thumbs up with his warm big usual smile, it made you relieved somehow, you weren't so strong physically and in other ninja techniques, that's good that your main ability was healing nonetheless
