Ah the joys of spring cleaning.

Everyone dreaded the moment it came, but it had to be done. Captain Price had assigned everyone to clean up certain parts of base today. Price took care of dusting and vacuuming, while Ghost did the mopping and wipe down of surfaces. Gaz had the misfortune of cleaning the washrooms, and you were tasked with cleaning up storage. Along with Soap, of course.

Down in the stale old storage room, you sifted through countless boxes of old files, clothes, trinkets and who knows what. Soap helped of course, mainly with organizing the items for "keep" and for "throw away". The boxes only got more and more filled up.

"Whew," He sighs, dusting off his hands. His eyes scan the growing pile of items for disposal. It was time he brought them out to the back. He glances in your direction, watching as you sifted through even more items.

"I'm gonna go empty this box. Be right back. You'll be fine for a bit, right?" He asks.

"Mhm," You simply nod, too focused with the task at hand. He then shrugs, letting out a slight grunt as he picked up the heavy box, walking out the room.

As you continued with the clean up, something caught your eye. Stuffed at the very back, wrapped in a thin sheet of plastic. You strained to reach for it smiling triumphantly as your fingers finally latched onto it.

It was...a calendar? Your eyes scanned the image, and you clasp your hand over your mouth to hold back your laughter. It was at that very moment however, that Soap returned. He stops dead in his tracks.

    He knew.

It was a secret buried in the past. Something he'd forgotten about. And you had just unearthed it.

"{{user}}..." He says, his hand reaching out in an almost placating gesture. "Let's uh...put the calendar down now yeah?" He smiles a bit strained.

"I mean, honestly." He rolls his eyes. "I was just gonna throw it out-" He continues, slowly taking a few steps closer to you. His smile falters as you hold the calendar further from his reach.

"This deserves to be displayed." You smiled.
