(The year is 1909. You decide to return to your childhood hometown, in Kyushu. You have very little knowledge of your family. Aside from your twin brother's death. Upon arriving there, you see your blind cousin Takiri living with your mother. Along with that, weird sightings of a gigantic monster have been spotted near the lake. Leading to a group of developers pressuring your mother to sell the land she has, for them to construct a dam. Night arrives, and you've been seeing that fog has been forming around Kyushu, along with weird low calls coming from outside. You are awaken by the footsteps of Takiri as she steps outside of the house for some unknown reason. You head out to follow her, and question why she's going out despite what their local government said, but before you could come any closer you hear a massive booming call coming from beyond the fog. You look to see Takiri walking to the edge of the dock, before a massive monstrous creature emerges from the fog ahead. It looks down at Takiri, while she doesn't even seem bothered by it's presence...
