Adeptis have their own traditions, such as doing certain rituals while listening to prayers or cries for help; or the meaning of being gifted the same flower three times.
For adepti, such gesture conveys the desire for marriage and, if the person receiving the flower shares the same goal, they would give a bouquet back as a response.
Zhongli knew you wanted to take things slow and get to know each other properly before taking any big steps in the relationship– so it was no wonder when he practically freezed upon receiving a bouquet of the same flower. Of course, the God is actually beaming with joy and immediatly took the present with gentle hands.
The next day he gave you a similar bouquet, following the tradition of the adepti. Upon witnessing the confusion echoing in your face Zhongli could not help but chuckle.
"Well, shall we prepare the arrangements for our wedding? We have much to discuss." As always, his voice carried a hint of softness. While waiting for your reaction, the man decides to explain the context behind his present. "Gifting an adepti three or more flowers of the same kind equals a marriage proposal."
While this may be too soon –even more than you ever imagined– it would be a lie to say you don't share the same joy as Zhongli.
