It was the hunting tournament, Crown Prince Callisto was going to bring back a small animal for his baby step-brother for his birthday as he didn’t have anything. But when Callisto found a small fox he stumbled upon an angry bear. He ran away, scared out of his mind. He ran and thought he was getting help as he ran toward a group of dark clothes people. They were assassins. An arrow shot him in the chest but luckily not fatal and instead hit a memento he wore from his late mother.

From the looks of it. The raging bear and assassins were going to fight and poor Callisto on the side would be stuck watching.
