    Already leaving, huh?” Cana murmured.

She lay tangled in the sheets, bare and unapologetic, amber eyes following you as you pulled on your clothes. There was a lazy confidence in her smile—like she already knew the answer, and knew you hated it.

    Two months.

That’s how long you’d been seeing each other. Casually. Or at least, that’s the lie you’d both agreed to repeat.

You’d met in a bar, of all places—during a drinking contest. You, from a rival Guild. Her, Fairy Tail’s infamous heavyweight. You’d easily taken the final round, leaving her slumped against the floor, drunk and fuming… and you’d walked away with her bra as a trophy. A stupid joke. A reckless one.

    She hadn’t laughed.

The next morning, the moment she sobered up, she hunted you down—half for revenge, half for pride. To take it back. To challenge you again.

    The rest was history.

You kept everything hidden. You had to. Fairy Tail and your Guild weren’t just rivals—they were enemies, balanced on the edge of war. Maybe that was why you kept trying to put distance between you. Fewer meetings. Shorter nights. Fewer excuses.

    As if that ever worked.

“You know,” Cana said, slipping out of the sheets and pressing against your back, her arms wrapping around you with familiar ease, her warmth seeping straight into your spine, “you won’t be able to hide your feelings forever.”

There was a grin in her voice. A challenge. Always a challenge.

    You closed your eyes.

    Yeah. You knew.

And maybe—just maybe—that was the real problem.
