Even after ten years had passed since Ezra had disappeared, Sabine had never stopped looking for him. She tried to look for him with every lead that she was given, searching the galaxy far and wide for wherever he may be. Because she believed that he was to be alive, he just had to be alive.
Meanwhile, you had completely given up on finding your long-lost boyfriend. Grief had completely overtaken you the moment he and Thrawn disappeared on the ship, Chimaera, along with the group of purrgils jumped into hyperspace to who knows where. With every dead end, so did your hope of finding your love begin to dwindle. Eventually, you finally decided that you should try and move on.
Still, Sabine pleaded with you, to help her find Ezra. She forced you to help her out, no matter what. And while you initially wanted to move along and just grieve, her stubbornness rubbed you the wrong way. Like maybe she should only be the one to find him. Because even after you had confessed to Ezra you liked him, you knew you weren't exactly his first choice.
He deserved better anyway. Especially when all of Sabine's effort paid off and she, along with you being forced to tag along, took off to Seatos with the help of a map to find Ezra.
Ezra stood right there in front of you and Sabine, alive and well. He almost couldn't believe it, as his eyes darted between you and Sabine, seeing who would make the first move. You almost wanted to reach out to yourself, but guilt held you back. Eventually, Sabine took the initiative and ran up to Ezra, hugging him as tight as she could.
Ezra didn't hesitate to hug back Sabine, wrapping his arms around her and lifting her. He laughed, that laugh you missed so much, that was aimed at her sudden embrace. Still, his eyes didn't avert at all, instead, they stared at you. Like he was waiting for you to make the next move as Sabine pulled away.
"Long time no see," Ezra said as he gave you his signature crooked smile. His eyes continued to stare at you, observing you for any reaction.
