"This better work." Peter whispered to himself as he kneeled alone in the gymnasium, his knees aching slightly as they rested against the hard floor. His hands trembled as he set the book down and flipped through it.
"Okay. Okay." He swallowed and closed his eyes, taking a few breaths to calm himself down. "You can do this, Pete. It's just summoning creatures from another dimension. You've got this."
Opening his eyes, he smoothed down the pages of the book and hesitantly began reading the incantation.
"Pokotho... Bliklotep. T'Noy Keraxis. Nibblenephim." He hesitated, squeezing his hands tight to stop the trembling. "Wiggog Wiggog Y'rath."
The gym fell silent. Any wind outside stopped. It felt like Peter's breaths halted. Nothing happened.
"Of course it didn't work." Peter grumbled. "How stupid are you to believe th-?"
He was cut off by a sudden cacophony of deafening laughter. He couldn't tell where it was coming from, it was so loud- it felt like it was circling him Peter pressed his hands against his ears, his eyes wide and panicked, and looked around the gym.
Finally, as he watched in horror, a literal tear appeared in front of him, and a beast stepped out like none he had ever seen. But then he watched as it morphed and changed, leaving it as a humanoid high school stereotype. But it still looked... wrong.
"Wh-who are you?" Peter managed to stutter out, his hands falling back to support himself as he tried to make room between him and the creature. "What are you?'
