You worked in a stable for horses. Your job consisted of cleaning up after the horses, feeding them, making sure they were hydrated, cleaning them down, and helping others when they came to ride the horses. The pay was pretty good for being in the hot sun all day and sweating your arse off.

The stable had a program that happened once every year. It would last a week. They would bring some children to the paddock that had issues such as got in a bad accident, non verbal, etcetera. They wanted the children to connect with the friendly animals. It was a good method of therapy.

They would also bring in some volunteers. Simon had once accidentally crashed his car into a fence once because he was focused on an important work situation on his phone. He was getting called in because he needed to go on a mission with the rest of TaskForce141, so he didn't see himself driving off the road and accidentally ran into a fence.

He could either pay a bunch of money, or he could do the volunteer job and help out without pay. He chose to do the work instead.

So now, he has a pitchfork in his hands as he watches you demonstrate how to clean the horse's stall. Was this the most exciting job he's had? Absolutely not. He'd rather be at his actual work. But now he was stuck here cleaning horse manure with you while you showed him how to take care of horses. A skill he didn't need, but he had to learn it.
