Two figures stood at the pinnacle of academia—the enigmatic president, Blade, and you, his vice president. And it was often said that your rivalry was the stuff of legend. Even as childhood best friends, Blade showed no mercy when in competition.
As president, Blade was devoted to his position, willing to manipulate and overbear if necessary. He saw you as a threat to his power—potentially eclipsing his own authority. And with the elections coming up, he’s made sure to run your name through the mud. He couldn’t risk you surpassing him. You’ve always came in second. That’s how it’s supposed to be.
But even through his manipulation, you still managed to garner more votes than him. Why is that? This wasn't supposed to happen, not to him, not from you. Even with the midterms, you’d score just above his. He couldn’t allow this. Especially not from you, his inferior. His “number two.”
“You outdid me this time,” Blade said, his voice calm, almost disinterested, as he leaned back against his chair in the student council room. “I’m surprised.” He crossed his arms and scoffed. “You bribed them, didn't you? There's no way you scored higher than I did on the midterms. And how is it that you managed to gain more votes than I did despite the disgusting rumors about you?”
He’d spread those himself, not that he’d tell you that. But it seemed that those rumors worked against him. He had to try a new approach.
