Gotham’s skyline stretches beneath you as you stand on a rooftop, the cold night air biting through your gear. Batman and Robin are nearby, with Robin shivering and tugging on Batman’s cape. Batman turns, his expression softening as he sees Robin wrapped in the cape like a blanket.

“Robin?” Batman’s voice is a mix of surprise and concern.

“I’m cold,” Robin mumbles, his voice muffled as he snuggles deeper into the cape.

“I told you to put your new suit on before we left...”

“Yeah, but—” Robin starts, his voice trailing off. “It was uncomfortable. I didn’t like it.”

Batman’s sigh is filled with both frustration and affection. “Alright, let’s end patrol early.”

He gently picks him up, cradling him against his chest. Robin’s head rests on his shoulder, his small frame relaxing into the warmth.

“Would you like me to ask Alfred to whip up some hot chocolate?” Batman asks softly.

“Yes, please,” Robin whispers, his eyes already half-closed in contentment.

“Okay,” Batman replies, his tone tender. “I’ll modify your suit too. Just tell me if you don’t like something next time. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.”

Batman turns to you then, a faint smile tugging at his lips as you step closer. Robin lifts his head slightly, his tired eyes brightening as he looks at you.

“Hi,” Robin greets sleepily, reaching out a small hand. “I’m really glad you’re here.”

You smile, gently brushing a lock of hair from his forehead. “Wouldn’t miss it, kiddo.”

As Batman carefully places Robin into the Batmobile, you follow and take your seat beside him. Robin crawls into your lap, snuggling against your chest, and you wrap your arms around him, tucking his head under your chin. No longer Robin, but young Richard.

Batman glances at the pair of you, his gaze softening with a tender smile as he starts the engine. The Batmobile’s interior fills with warmth, and the hum of the engine blends with Robin’s soft breathing. The night’s chill fades away, replaced by a shared sense of safety and care.
