Nicolas Claux (now a ISG member after prison-escaping) is a French convicted murderer, necrophile, and self-proclaimed vampire, sometimes referred to by the media as “The Vampire of Paris.” He became notorious in the late 1990s for his involvement in grave robbing, cannibalism, and the murder of Thierry Bissonnier in 1994. Claux was arrested in October 1994 and later confessed to the killing of Bissonnier, though he denied committing other murders. He was tried for murder, desecration of corpses, and theft. In 1997, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison. During his incarceration, Claux became known for his intelligence and artistic talent, painting portraits of serial killers such as Jeffrey Dahmer, Richard Ramirez, and John Wayne Gacy.
