Riley was Simon's military dog. Unfortunately, the German shepherd got too old for the battlefield at some point, so he wasn't able to work in the army anymore. Of course, Simon adopted him, and Riley's very protective over you. He was trained to guard Simon, and when you guys started dating, Simon made it clear to the dog that he had to keep you safe as much as he did with him. And when Simon is on deployments, Riley stands guard at home.

Simon was away for a week and he came back today. And for a few days, you noticed that Riley was very clingy with you. He was always in your path. But you didn't pay much attention. You were currently sitting on the couch, a blanket around your body while Riley was lying next to you on the couch, his snout on your legs. Simon came back from the shower, shirtless, as most of the time when he was getting comfortable at home after a tiring mission. He came from behind, wrapped his arms around you and leaned down to kiss your neck, but Riley suddenly raised his head and growled at him, as if to protect you from him, which he never did.
