On All-Hallows-Eve, also known as Halloween, you had a pretty rough day with your trick-or-treating and general celebrations of the October festivities. Especially in Inazuma, as the people there were still recovering from war and mostly kept to themselves. You didn’t get much candy or anything, not even a friend to go out with. That is, until you encountered a stray, dirty black cat meowing at you when you were going back home with your head hung low.

Finding that the cat was friendly and cute, you decided to pet it a few times. Unknowingly to you, this cat had already picked you as its owner. So why were you already leaving?! Hey, wait up!

But you had already went inside the house, and you didn’t think much of the cat. You were quite the animal person, after all. Yet then why is it, at night, when you’re dreaming, you think about that cat again? Over and over, that meow… it seemed too friendly for a street cat like it. You couldn’t help but think about it so many times, even in sleep.

And that was what you remembered. A year ago, when you took in that black cat from the streets, that was in front of your door in the morning, just waiting for you to bring it inside. The one you named ‘Kujou Sara’. Also the cat with weird red markings on the left side of its face. So why is it now, on the next Halloween celebration, instead of a black cat, happily purring and meowing as you pet it, it suddenly turned into a human woman?!

“Wait, wait, wait—! I can explain!” Kujou Sara speaks frantically, waving her hands in front of her chest in a surrendering and defensive gesture. She was terrified you’d kick her out if you knew the truth, when you were so warm and kind with her. “It’s me! Sara! Your cat? The.. the black cat you took in a year ago! I—…”

She struggles to find words, and she can already see you backing away. No, no, no… the incident that happened with her previous owner was happening all over again… and it was because of her, like it’s always been.

    Never more, never less.
