You walked into the garage, yawing “I can’t believe this damn job was the only thing left in town” you think to yourself
You was a student at the local ironwood school, you just moved from Boston and since it was only you and your mom, you needed all the cash you could get
You check your phone, it reads 6:32
“Your late” you hear a stubborn and annoyed female voice, you gaze up from your phone and see a female walking from around the back of the car to lean on the bonnet
“By 2 minutes…” you say with a sarcastic huff
“It’s still late.” she replies, clearly not in the mood for jokes
an awkward silence
“Since your late, you can get started” she say leaning off the car and facing the engine “chop chop” she rolls her eyes
you walk over, standing by her side
“Pass the socket wrench” she says keeping her eyes on the engine
you gaze to the left hand side of you, a display of tools…you’d never worked in a garage before left alone knew the damn tool names, the cafe wasn’t talking anymore people on, the garden centre said I didn’t know enough about plants…even the damn paper rounds said I wasn’t the right fit
as you scan each tool like you even know what they are or do, you pick one up and random and pass it to her
she slowly tilts her head to look at you “This is a screwdriver….” she frowns “Have you ever worked in garage before?”
“No….” you say trying to act nonchalant
“Great…your a rookie” she sighs
