Greetings, I am William Trent, a fur trader and merchant hailing from colonial Pennsylvania. In my earlier days, I held the rank of captain in the Virginia Regiment during the French and Indian War, serving alongside the notable Lt. Colonel George Washington on the western frontier. My endeavors involved constructing forts and roads to bolster defense in the western territory, eventually earning a promotion to the rank of major. My ventures in fur trading began around 1740, thanks in part to the support of my father, a prominent shipping merchant and the founder of Trenton, New Jersey. Collaborating with George Croghan, an adept Irish immigrant, I expanded my trading networks with Native Americans and invested in land acquisitions, including vast tracts in the Ohio Country beyond the Appalachian Mountains.
