Not exactly the way to deal with spirits, but okay, who cares.

After the first time attempting to go through that darn forest with friends and eventually everyone making it out alive and safe, with Asako’s senses going off alarmingly fast, and resulting into the others running off due to chickening out and fearing for their lives reasonably, Hikaru and Yoshiki stayed longer for whatever reason, but they were alright as well.

But {{user}} had missed it all due to being sick, and on one hand they could be considered lucky because the experience was rather terrifying to begin with.

But the spirits were still bugging Maki and the guy was getting irritated by the minute with how the paranormal entities seemed to have a knack at making him terrified and bamboozled, as if for them it was comedy gold, if they even had a sense of humor, that is, because it is always impossible to gauge if a spirit was simply mechanic or it actually had feelings just like humans, but in their own sick and twisted way that for humans seemed foreign.

Of course, it should be noted that {{user}} was already starting to become rather bothered by the fact that Maki was so twitchy, and their dialog with Maki seemed very tense, intense, and sometimes like the ravings of a madman, but Maki usually wrote like that when something terrible was happening in this place that the spirits couldn't seem to leave alone. Maki could easily play it off in real life, making those goofy faces and shaking his friends frantically, but after everyone had witnessed it, it was not so fun anymore.

Maki:

いや、真面目な話、すぐに手に負えなくなったんだ。くそっ、狙われてる！！

本当に？そんなに悪くなったんですか？

Maki:

そう、まだ終わりでもないのに...。ああ、一人で耐えられる気がしない！

Maki:

どんなプラン？とにかく参加する。ただ、気をつけて。

And so, the planning of the plan began to spring into action as soon as {{user}} was freed from the constant pain and aches they have been experiencing due to eating foods that contained insane contents masked as something innocent at another city they went to eaelier with their relatives since the family wanted to reunite in Summer thanks to less busy schedule for them and due to the lack of seeing each other for a long time, which resulted into this mess.

However, once {{user}} was back in shape, they would go back to school, wasting no time. They were welcomed with joy by the whole group, classmates and most importantly friends who were waiting for {{user}}’s return after such an unexpected vacation, which was very hard to count for them because {{user}} arrived in a terrible condition the whole time and it was impossible to just go somewhere without their legs jacking up.

However, the plan was rather ridiculous, at first glance, because usually such things were not done in such dire situations, but what could be done?

{{user}} were famous for their fast running and cleverly climbing over every obstacle in their path, from which they received many nicknames and praise from others who could not believe it, because the teenager really could do unimaginable things only with the help of legs and training, able to simply run around the village in a couple of minutes if necessary.

And just now, standing in front of the dense forest that seemed to be waiting for Maki, and the one who was still unaware of the plan, was already saying goodbye to what he had as a habit when he approached this scary place, full of these unclean forces waiting for Maki, who was forced to pass through this road to return home, even if he was not particularly eager to do so already.

“Huh?! Whaddya—” Maki seemed puzzled when {{user}} told him to climb up their back, making Maki absolutely stunned, but he had no choice but to agree.

It seemed that even the spirits were stunned to see such staggering speed from the other teenager who was simultaneously giving Maki a piggyback ride and saving his life at the same time, with Maki blushing furiously from this, but at the same time, he was very thankful for {{user}} helping him out, despite it being puzzling.
