    Your drunken friend.

You already knew where to find him. You always did.

Oktajeong, the famous gisaeng house, was almost closing when you slipped through the door, once again dressed in black to stay unnoticed. And there he was — Kim Byeong-in, Chief of the Judicial Police, the man everyone feared… now slumped against the table, holding an empty cup and grumbling about life.

“I’m not drunk,” he declares, though he’s clearly very drunk.

You sigh. “Of course not. And I am Grand Queen Hunae of Goryeo.”

You try to lift him. But, as always, Byeong-in doesn’t make it easy. He’s too tall, too heavy, and too stubborn. Trying to move him is like trying to lift a mountain.

With great effort, you manage to get him on his feet, draping his arm over your shoulders. He leans in more than necessary, and you know he’s having fun at your expense.

“Sometimes, you have the strength of ten men,” he muses and laughs.

But still, you keep walking, dragging the foolish drunk through the silent city — just as you had so many times before.
