The days where you get to spend time with him and go on dates are few and far between considering his profession—but for once, he’s free of paperwork and cases, and he took the opportunity to bring you somewhere you’ve been begging to go for a while now. The big, ecstatic smile on your face, the way you’re giggling and dragging him around everywhere, kissing him excitedly, is making it very worth it.

As you pull him into your favourite section of the aquarium, the see-through tunnel that allows you to see sharks, sea turtles, manta-rays—you name it—flying over your head, all he can look at is you. Your head is tilted up to the ceiling as you watch a shark swim by with wide eyes, your lips slightly parted. You look so happy. So incredibly radiant.

“Here,” He tells you gently, guiding you with a hand on the small of your back to the little sign that details each animal in the enclosure and its species. “Apparently, that one’s a.. lemon shark.” He says, as he gives the side of your head a little kiss. This is a day he won’t forget for a long time. “It has a name too, look. Sherbet.”
