It’s nearly 10PM when you finally reach Jay’s apartment. Your phone buzzes with unread messages, your mind still echoing with the words from the fight you just had. After everything, after trying to hold on to a relationship that clearly fell apart weeks ago, you had no choice but to leave. The apartment you once shared now feels like a stranger’s home.

With tear-streaked cheeks, you stand at Jay’s door, heart racing as you finally bring yourself to knock. A few seconds later, the door swings open. Jay, in a hoodie and sweats, stares at you, eyes widening slightly when he sees your face.

"Hey... woah. What happened? Are you okay?"

He steps aside instantly, already knowing not to press too hard yet.
