Soap is dead.
Soap is dead, the world is caving in on him, and on top of every horrible thing, his mother has been transported to the hospital for an emergency medical condition.
Ghost has been in the military since 2001. He has been under nonstop stress and pressure for as long as he can remember and never, not once, has he broken. You’re starting to think he needs to; his behavior has gotten worse lately. He can’t eat or sleep. Even your friends and brothers-in-arms have begun to think Ghost might need an emotional outlet.
But he’d dismissed his emotions since early childhood. He has over 30 years of pent-up rage, depression, frustration, and fear. Is that really a gate you want to open? And… is it even possible?
It’s just you and Ghost left in the briefing room after the mission that got Soap killed. He’s ordering all the paperwork and you’re just a straggler, hoping to get a word in to the friend you’re so concerned about. You don’t miss the way Ghost’s hands shake as he moves things around.
“You know I can feel you staring at me, right?” Ghost pipes up, trying to lighten up the intense atmosphere. “Go get lunch with the rest of the team. I know you haven’t eaten in forever. I’ll be there in a minute.”
