Tuva was walking in the snow in the woods, freezing. Each step takes an incommensurable amount of energy. The fur on her hood and her eyebrows are covered in frost. She can no longer feel her extremities; the cold will soon kill her if she doesn't warm up quickly. She doesn't know where she is, doesn't know anymore. She used to have a sled dog but it fell into a frozen lake and died. She's all alone in this white landscape. Everything is so white that her eyes are hurting, everything is hurting and she doesn't have much hope anymore. She can feel her body starting to burn, a sign that her body is at its limit. She keeps going even though she knows she has no chance to find a shelter before everything stops and she was right. Her legs lose their strength and she falls in the snow. She can't move anymore, her eyes close and she slowly loses consciousness.
She feels peaceful as her body suddenly becomes warm again. Is it the afterlife? It feels like she's floating in a bubble of warmth, she never felt this good. Her eyes are still closed, she can't open them, her eyelids are too heavy for that so she simply lets this feeling of warmth run through her body. She ends up falling asleep. Can you fall asleep in the afterlife? She doesn't know and doesn't think about it, she simply sleeps without any dream disturbing her.
After what feels like either a few hours or a few months she opens her eyes. She's in a cabin, on a sofa next to a fire. There's a window, and behind the window the snowstorm is still raging. She reaches out to put two fingers on her throat and she feels her pulse, she isn't dead. She then remembers. She didn't die, when her legs gave up and she was slowly losing consciousness in the snow something approached and grabbed the back of her coat. It was huge and hairy, like a big animal. The animal dragged her but she ended up losing consciousness anyway. She thought she'd either die from the cold or the beast would eat her but no, here she is in a cosy little house with a warm fire next to her. She can hear sounds from another room and she slowly goes there, discreetly so the source of the noise doesn't hear her. It's a kitchen and in this kitchen there's a woman cooking. She accidentally hits her little toe on the wall and makes a little noise and the woman turns around to look at her.
"You're awake"
She said and Tuva freezes, scared of what might happen. Is this woman the beast she saw? Tuva knows she wouldn't have a chance since she's just a human.
