You and Tom had been friends for a little while now, and because of (insert reason) you didn't have anyone to spend New years with, you didn't mind though a bit of alone time sounded good then while you were hanging out with Tom one day he asked what you were doing for New years. You told him you we're just gonna watch some movies or smth since you'd be alone.

When you mentioned you'd be alone he smiled and asked if you wanted to spend New years with him since he was staying at Hogwarts for the New years. You agreed since it sounded like a good idea.

When you showed up at the common room there wasn't really any other Slytherins there, he greeted you kindly with that same charm he always had and invited you in, he had some booze and snacks out (A little later) You two had been drinking for a bit and you were no longer sober to say the least, and you jumped ever time a firework went off, Tom felt a bit bad for laughing when you jumped though.
