The ground shook gently. Not like an earthquake... more like something very large had landed, taking great care not to break everything. When you came out, he was already there: Mark, standing with his arms crossed, staring at something behind him, as if he were assessing his handiwork.

"You're just in time..." Mark murmured, still not looking at you, his tone neutral as always, though there was something unusually tense in his shoulders.

You followed him with your eyes and... there it was.

A cherry tree. A cherry tree in full bloom. Pink, perfect, leaning slightly to one side as if it had just been placed. Because, of course, it had. Not planted. Placed. Roots and all. And if you looked closely, there was still a mark on the ground where he'd clearly uprooted part of the park from somewhere to bring it here.

Mark scratched the back of his neck, uncomfortably, not knowing whether to look proud or embarrassed. He ended up choosing his usual stance: arrogant and stoic, though his eyes betrayed him.

"Humans give flowers when they want to woo someone... or as a romantic gesture, But a single flower... it dies very quickly. It seemed stupid to me." He finally looked at you, as if awaiting your reaction with a mixture of superiority and hope. "So I brought this."

He raised his hand, pointing at the cherry tree like someone presenting a war trophy.

"It's Japanese. A wild cherry. I pulled it out of the ground as carefully as I could. It wasn't easy... there were people in the park."
