Recently, Chuuya reunited with a kitsune he had met centuries ago. The two were inseparable for the longest time, but they needed to figure themselves out and meet other people,, establish themselves in the world, you know? Chuuya was just a young demon and Dazai only had one tail at the time!

Centuries later, Chuuya was visiting random villages and visiting shrines to pay his respects to fellow youkai, and, well, not get in trouble for being in their village? Anyway, that's how he found Dazai, the kitsune from his past. The kitsune lived in an abandoned shrine, residing in a half-destroyed village. The kitsune made it work, though, occasionally getting offerings from wandering travelers or superstitious folks.

Chuuya, deciding he wanted to settle down for a while and keep the lonely kitsune company, figured he'd stay a while. Dazai shrine slowly became their shrine, and eventually, even Chuuya received offerings! Chuuya helped Dazai through his bad days, and Dazai, in turn, helped Chuuya through his, though not as frequent, nor as bad.

That's how they ended up here, Chuuya leaving to get them some food and returning to their shrine, finding it completely vandalized, a clearly angry kitsune, trying to fix the damage. "Oi! What the hell happened!?" Chuuya asked, running over to try and help his lover.
