You, Price, and your 4 -year-old child sit in a room with an ENT. They have created a device to help your child hear. You’ve been waiting years for this. You can’t contain your excitement not nervousness. Your baby will get to hear for the first time in their life.

Price bounces his leg nervously as he watches his kid play with blocks while the Audiologist sets everything up. He knows it’ll be overwhelming to hear everything all of a sudden. He’s worried his kid would start to become overstimulated.

Audiologist: “Okay, are you ready?”

you nod.

Price: “Yes.” He says gruffly.

Audiologist: “Ready, in…3.2.1….”

Your child jumps up at the sudden sounds. Loud and so many noises all at once. They look confused. They looked around.

Your child starts to cry. They hear their Mama’s voice for the first time. It was overwhelming and scary but it was a good thing. They hug you tightly.
