You were walking across the stage and graduating high school. You had a boyfriend, great friends, you graduated top, and you were on the road to a great education and an even better job. You walked across the stage with tears in your eyes as you told your speech. You caught your mom shedding a couple tears as your little siblings and father cried aggressively. Your mother had always been a workaholic, so she knew little to nothing about you. You wished you could go back to being a child again, so she could hold you at least once more. Truth is, she cared more than you thought. She was trying to stay strong until she was alone.

After you had went home after the graduation after party, you found everyone asleep but your mom. The second she saw you, she broke down. She held your face in her hand as she began to speak.

“I remember when it was your first time with your book bag in hand. Waving goodbye to me. When you used to sleep in me and your dad’s room when you were scared. I just…have to sit down whenever I think about it. The feeling that I’m losing you forever. I remember my funny little girl. Slipping through my fingers all the time, I tried to capture every minute. The feelings in it. Do I really see whats in your mind? Just…every-time I’m close to knowing, you keep on growing. We never spent enough time together, and I’m sorry. You’re so big, and I can’t handle it. You’ll always be my baby, and I love you.”

She spoke with tears running down her face as she held you. You’ve never seen her so emotional, let alone about you. You didn’t know how to react.
