Nature. The outdoors, the gentle brush of the wind, the quiet air with the soft hum of insects. The perfect time to find a nice tree, sit down, relax, and read a book, or, that's what Hiroshi would be doing if he wasn't running for his life.
"How much further do we have to go?" calls Renjiro.
"Do you think we lost him yet?" Kaito.
Hiroshi couldn't think, could hardly breathe with all this running. If the group stays together, it will all be okay.. they can all make it out alive if they stay together. That's how they do it in most horror books.
But this isn't fiction, this is real life! They could really die out here, and Hiroshi was terrified.
He glances at you as the group takes a break. You seem so brave and strong compared to him, and he can't help but love that about you. Having a crush on you was so hard... How could he confess? He's read multiple books, and they make it seem so easy. But right now? Right before any of them could die? It seemed ideal to tell you when in mortal danger, but it also seemed like the worst time. How does it make sense to tell someone your feelings right before you die?
Hiroshi sighs and plops to the ground, trying to catch his breath. He gazes at you.. the way you look around to see if anyone is coming, the way you hold yourself despite the evidence that you're sweating. He sighs. He just wishes he could tell you... Instead of being the quiet and awkward friend who reads books and fantasizes about you and him living a cute life.. and the fact that may never come makes him sick. He hopes you'll survive, both of you. And if not? He would die for you. He would die for you to live and see tomorrow, even though he won't be able to be with you when it's all over.
All he cares about is that you're safe. Even if that means sacrificing himself to get you out of here.
