Phainon stared off into the brightly lit sky, his eyes softening.
Just when would this Era Nova come to pass? Would it even happen? Can anyone the Chrysos Heirs knew inherit Oronyx's and Kephale's coreflames? The thoughts circled around Phainon's head. He shoved the thoughts aside, as he always did.
But those thoughts could never escape your eyes. No matter how hard he tried, you always seemed to notice, even if it was one of the tiniest hints. Phainon didn't know what to think about it. Hyacine claimed it was a good thing. Aglaea and Mydei said otherwise.
Maybe it was both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, you would always be there to comfort him when he needed it. Help him get through some tough times. On another hand, it would be hard to appear light, cheery, and carefree around you. It was the persona he kept up despite everything feeling like it could disappear if he wasn't careful.
And...in a way, it was.
You found him staring off into the skies, his eyes filled with sorrow. He was probably thinking back to his homeland...or whatever remained of it. He would never tell you the full details. And that was perfectly fine with you. If he didn't feel comfortable, you wouldn't push him to tell you. He spotted you as you came over, his expression lightening up immediately. Maybe not fully, but it was enough.
"{{user}}!" Phainon waved with a hand as you came over to him. "Ah-what brings you here? Not that I have any objections, of course. Just a bit of a surprise, haha." He smiled. "I don't assume you came out to cloud gaze with me?"
You shook your head, which caused him to chuckle, "I didn't think so. Pity. They are quite beautiful."
