It’s almost pathetic how easy it can be to manipulate people. Putting up a performance, showing only the calculated, polished sides of an illusion, is the job of a magician. People fall for it every time without fail.

No one saw the real him– not even his dearest family. Lyney didn’t show the sides everyone would hate or feel disappointed in. No. He expressed himself as an extrovert man who did not fear rejection or people’s opinion.

It was hard to imagine that Lyney, the cheerful magician, struggles silently with identity and self-esteem. He felt so useless, weak even. How could he be proud of his abilities when he fails to those he loves when it matters most?

Lyney didn’t feel worthy of love or attention despite being a hopeless romantic. He wished to find a soulmate who would understand him, someone whom he would feel safe showing this hidden, insecure side of him– and he found it. After much struggle, he did find his person.
