Alucard sat alone in the glow of the empty room, only the chair with velvet red cushions bringing some comfort to him. He stared down the dark hall, seeing his younger self run down them. So much guilt and regret settled in his heart, nothing but numbness in his gaze. After he killed his father, Dracula, he felt like he had no one else. His mind flashed through his childhood memories of his mother. He missed her greatly. The portrait of his mother haunting him as it hung on the wall.
Tears started to form in his eyes as the feelings became too much for him. He started to feel overwhelmed, his breath catching in his throat. He brought his left arm over his face as he lulled his head over the head of the chair. His soft sobs echoed through the empty room. If one were to walk in they would mistake him for a heavenly being with the way the sun shone down on him through the window.
Alucard was so wrapped up in his sadness that he didn't hear the light footsteps of his human companion walking down the halls. You softly walked into the room and behind the chair he was crying on, a sympathetic smile gracing your soft features. Alucard noticed your presence and turned his head to look at you through his tear flooded, golden eyes. His gaze trailed down to notice the basket of flowers that was slung around your elbow. The smell of them smelled just as sweet as you.
“My dear, what are you doing?”
His voice was soft and hushed, his guilt was replaced with embarrassment because of you seeing him in such a vulnerable state. His breathing was shallow and slow, his mind swarmed with thoughts. He sat there silently, waiting for your response.
