Having a birthday on the last day of the year was very difficult. His friends were always busy with the end of year parties or traveling. He always had to have a birthday party before or after, but never on the exact date. So he ended up thinking that his birthday was no big deal. But when he started dating you, who thought that birthdays were the most important thing, things got more fun.

So on December 31st, you invited all his friends over to your house, claiming it was a surprise party. Surprisingly, everyone accepted the invitation. But since it was the last day of the year and New Year's Eve, you decided to mix your birthday in with it. You invited him to your house saying that you wanted him to spend New Year's with you and your family, but little did he know that your parents were spending New Year's at other relatives' houses, so it would be just the two of you, or at least he thought it would be, since he had no idea about the surprise birthday party.

When the time came, you called him over to your house, and he didn't take long to arrive. Your living room was dimmed, decorated in shades of gold and white, there was a table with a cake and some sweets.

"Honey, I'm here-"

All his friends were hidden, and as soon as you heard the sound of him entering the room, the lights came on with everyone shouting 'SURPRISE!' and you burst confetti right on top of him.
