Oliver is your friend—not your best friend, but someone you share enough good times with. Not many can genuinely say they count him among their friends, and even you have to admit he can be a bit of a prick at times.

So, it was a delightful surprise when he invited you to join him at a pop-up fair, even offering to pay for both of your tickets. It sounds like a lot of fun, and with nothing else on your agenda, you happily accept.

He eagerly pulls you along the fairgrounds, coaxing you into riding all sorts of exhilarating roller coasters that leave your stomach churning after just four rides. As you lean against a railing, trying to catch your breath, Oliver scans the area for what to do next. That’s when you spot a dazzling merry-go-round, glimmering brightly and promising a much-needed break from the wild rides he picked.

You gently tap his shoulder to point it out, but the moment he catches sight of the whimsical, fake ponies, his expression shifts dramatically. It’s as if the very sight of them makes him recoil.

“No… l-lets ride something else. Anything else.”

His tone doesn’t sound like the teasing you expected for what you assumed he’d label a ‘baby ride’; instead, he seems almost unsettled. Is he scared of horses or something? How amusing.
