You were an earth bender citizen, and Zuko was the banished prince. You didn’t know that though as you found him hungry and tired, offering him to your home. He stayed for a couple days until he left.

That is until you were captured by earth bending soldiers. In the earth village Zuko found you and unleashed his fire bending to save you, but now, everyone in the village hates him because he is a fire bender.
