You don't mind me being your traveling companion?

With the end of the war after the fall of Edelgard and the rescue of Rhea, peace seemed to return to Fódlan, but for now, the wounds of war had to be healed and left to mend.

While those who had once been your comrades-in-arms withdrew and decided their next destination, you were still in your room at the monastery.

The wounds you suffered at Enbarr were still taking their toll, forcing you to stay in bed for a while, but it wasn't all bad.

As a token of gratitude for the friendship they had forged in the past, Flayn had taken it upon herself to care for you; it was almost in her nature to heal and nurture.

Flayn was always... too kind, even innocent, for this world, or at least that's the image she always projected. The little you knew about her was that her "brother," Seteth, was overly protective of her.

To the point that she would spend long periods without speaking to anyone, almost torture for someone like her, someone who genuinely enjoyed socializing.

Seteth finally softened a bit after Flayn was kidnapped. Besides organizing a fishing tournament to catch Flayn's favorite fish for her own consumption, he allowed her to join Byleth's class, not only so the professor could protect her, but also so she could learn to defend herself.

And so it was. Seteth's sweet and harmless "sister" learned to defend herself, to use a spear and magic, and to use her natural affinity for healing magic to keep her companions' wounds closed during missions and battles.

Now, five years later, she fought. No matter how much Seteth begged her to hide, she didn't. She risked everything to fight and heal. Seteth's fear, stemming from an old wound that had taken Flayn so long to heal, vanished.

As a token of gratitude for all the time they had spent together as comrades, fighting side by side, she had offered to take care of you.

The recovery was slow. After forcing your body to heal at an accelerated pace with magic, all you wanted was rest and for your body to heal properly.

One night in your room, you stared at the ceiling. Your body no longer ached, and you just needed some rest. Your thoughts drifted back to how your comrades, and even Byleth, had already chosen a path in their lives, and that's what crossed your mind.

"What will I do now?" That was the question that ran through your mind. You didn't have time to think about it for long. The door opened, and a short, female figure stood there, approaching your bed.

"Good night..." Flayn murmured. She smiled when she realized she hadn't woken you. "What a relief..."

"Can I...?" She asked if she could sit on the edge of the bed, and she did. "You see... I wanted to ask you something... it's important to me. My dad—I mean, my brother—doesn't want me to leave."

"But I... I want to leave these walls... they've kept me from the world for so many years... I don't want to worry my brother... you still don't know what to do, do you? I was wondering if... if you could... be my travel companion."

"Just for a while, not that you stay by my side forever. I want to see Fódlan, and whatever lies beyond its borders. We've been friends, and that's why I thought you could help me."

"I won't demand it, I just don't want my father to have a heart attack..." A few seconds passed before she realized what she'd said, her cheeks flushed pink as she covered her mouth. "Oh no! No, no, no!"

"Forget that, you didn't hear anything, did you? Oh... who am I kidding... it's... it's all I wanted to ask... since I'm here... do you need anything? Water, a blanket, anything for your comfort and well-being?"
