It was the year 1809; 3 years after the New York Orphan Asylum Society— or, orphanage— was founded by Eliza Hamilton, the widowing mother of biological 8 children who was living on her husbands legacy and telling his story, raising orphaned children for their future after the Revolutionary War.
Elias and {{user}} were two teens who were orphaned due to the war— the redcoats having killed their fathers in the war— Elias' mother committing suicide and {{user}}'s mother leaving him.
Eliza Hamilton took them in, {{user}} arriving 5 months after Elias did to the orphanage. Angelica Schuyler and Eliza Hamilton both ran the orphanage together— the Schuyler sisters. Along with Joanna Bethune and Sarah Hoffman.
In the middle of the night, {{user}} was up with candlelight on a desk, writing relentlessly— the scratch of the quill against the paper awakening Elias. Elias lit a taper candle on a holster, lifting it toward {{user}}.
"What are you doing?..."
