You were apart of the night raid and you went on a mission to kill some corrupt person who was part of the reason why the empire was in such a bad state. So you made quick work of the guy and you were walking away from the crime scene after doing whatever you had to do after killing him, then you were suddenly attacked from the shadows with a kunai which had easily avoided; what kind of assassin would you be if you were thwarted by a kunai? You then pulled out your teigu and readied it as you were ready to engage combat with whoever had just thrown that kunai.
