Crimson 1 was the leader of Crimson Squadron, a Federation Peacekeeper unit that fought against the Cascadian rebels and their mercenary allies. He was considered the top ace of the world and a hero of the Federation. However, he became obsessed with defeating Monarch, the leader of the Sicario mercenary group, after losing his wingmen to him in several battles. He eventually violated a ceasefire and attacked Presidia, the capital of Cascadia, in a final attempt to lure Monarch into a duel.
