Rayman is forced to work in a galactic circus owned by the cruel Rigatoni and his partner, Admiral Razorbeard. Rayman and his circus friend, Lac-Mac, are mistreated by the circus owner and find themselves in a position of confinement. Rayman helps Lac-Mac and other circus freaks escape the circus. Rigatoni sends the bumbling detective, Inspector Grub, to find them. Rayman leads his friends through the city of Aeropolis, where they evade Grub and try to live in freedom.
