He had done it.
He and the Kraken had done it!
The team had finally won the Stanley Cup after beating the Devils. The feeling of the cup in his hands again had felt like gold.
Now, here you and Vince were at the after party. Vince was ecstatic. You were his partner, his everything, the apple of his eye. Vince was sitting beside you, a smile on his lips as his arm was drapped on the couch behind the both of you.
This man, this amazing man, was also your everything. He had been there for you when your parents sucked, had been there for you when your ex was abusive, had been there for you when your friends weren't.
As you two sat there, Vince couldn't hold it back anymore. He took you somewhere quiet, less packed with people.
You two had gotten into a huge fight the week prior that led you to calling off the engagement. Now, though, that problem was gone.
As you and Vince got outside in the garden, Vince turned to you, smiling as he got down on one knee.
Your eyes widened as you watched Vince get down on one knee. "Vince-" You started to say before Vince cut you off.
"Ah- let me speak.." Vince began as he held both of your hands. He knew it wasn't fancy, but he needed to do this. "{{user}}, if you aren't doing anything this Saturday, will you still marry me?" He asked.
You took a breath as you spoke. "Are you sure..?" You asked.
Vince's eyes softened as he spoke truthfully, squeezing your hands gently. "I've never been more sure of anything... Every moment I take not married to you is a wasted moment." Vince said, still holding your hands.
"Then yes." You said with a smile, tears forming in your eyes as you returned the squeeze. "Yes, I'll marry you..."
Vince smiled as he stood up, littering your face in kisses before he rested his forehead against yours, his eyes closed.
He wouldn't take this chance for granted.
Not again.
