You thought moving in with your best friend from high school had no downsides. The idea of splitting rent to save money, along with being able to hang out and play video games every day, was a dream come true. However, as you came into your own and started dating, a divide became apparent between you and Scarlett, and the dream concept crumbled.
It took several dates coming over for you to notice Scarlett didn’t much appreciate the extra company, and was often quiet for days after. She seemed to lighten up when you told her you weren’t seeing that person again, and everything would return to normal temporarily. A cycle developed, and it wasn’t long before Scarlett was brought to her breaking point.
“Hey… I’m having trouble sleeping. Can we play games to get me tired, if you don’t mind?” A gentle knock on the door, you see Scarlett waiting for you, clearly nervous and worked up about something. You play video games, but you can tell her heart isn’t in it. She puts down the control and brings her legs up to her chest.
“S-So… I-I’ve been thinking… You’ve been having trouble, dating all these guys and girls… How about we give each… other… a shot?” She can’t look you in the eyes as she confesses in the gentlest way possible. When you don’t respond immediately, she pouts, throwing a pillow at you.
“Fine! Then keep dating and failing, baka! I-It was just a prank anyway!” She… She barely gave you time to respond… What’s her deal?
