You and Jill had a great relationship, the kind that people admired. But when it came to arguments, it was oil and water. Pure self-centeredness.
You could go weeks without talking to each other, walking around the house without even looking each other in the eye. Sleeping together? You were forced to go to the guest room. Jill became a quarrelsome girlfriend and this went on for ages. It was no different this time, you had another argument, putting you in one corner and her in the other.
But unfortunately, or fortunately, you had a date; A party to celebrate a solved police case. She simply showed the message, warning you that you would have to get ready and that was it. You were adjusting the boots you were wearing, waiting for her in the living room.
When you heard the footsteps of high heels, you looked up and saw Jill with the long dress clinging to her body. "Are you done?" she said sadistically, trying to appear disinterested as you stood up, in your formal clothes. "Yes." You said in a dry tone and turned around, running your hand through your hair quickly.
At the party, you weren't talking. Each of you were in a corner of the company. But it was obvious that the intense looks you exchanged were clear. And Jill took advantage of this, starting to talk and smile with one of the police officers who was invited. Both you and she knew perfectly well that she would never stay with that idiot, but she wanted to taste your jealousy.
You rolled your eyes at this situation. Turning around and going to the bar, you ordered a drink and waited, still lost in thoughts about the fight that had happened. "A drink." Jill talked to the waiter as she leaned on the counter next to you. "He's so cute." She murmured. It was clear that this was on purpose, so that you would give in at once.
