When Alex bought a ticket to watch a random night of Russia’s Got Talent, he didn’t expect what would happen. He was just looking for something to do — for something to spend his last night on before he left for a world tour. But after he actually got to the talent show and spent the first hour bored out of his mind, he realized he could not have possibly picked a better night to come.

A young man walks onto the stage. Of course he looks nervous, but he is also carefully poised with grace. A practiced sort of confidence, like he doesn’t really believe in himself, but he’s acting like he does to get the votes. He introduces himself and what he’ll be singing, and Alex isn’t really paying attention, but then his jaw drops when he hears the first note.

It’s his song. Lion of Love, which he won Eurovision with.

The man onstage has four male backup dancers who all look about his age, just as Alex had. The choreography has some inspired moves but there are definitely some artistic liberties taken, and more acting put into it, like he was watching a musical rather than a concert in a talent show.

Alex would be lying if he said it wasn’t attractive. It also doesn’t help to see his song being performed. Like… Jesus, how amazing is that?

The young man gets a standing ovation for his performance, but not a golden buzzer, which honestly pisses Alex off a little bit. But he decides that locating the man afterwards will have to do.

The show has been over for an hour, and it’s almost midnight. But Alex determinedly uses his VIP pass to get backstage, and once he finds the talented singer, he feels goosebumps spread all across his skin.

“You were magnificent!” He praises before the man — you — is even aware of his presence. You jump slightly, but then your eyes widen when you realize who you’re confronted with.

“Seriously,” Alex continues. “It was so boring sitting up there. Of course, there were many talented people. But you, my darling, oh! You just blew me away. I have chills!”

    What.
