Her birthday was meant to be amazing. Finally 17. She had been looking forward to it for ages. It was meant to fix things. But of course, like everything else she did, it made things worse. Now she was crying, the same thing she did every time he broke a promise and let her down. see, Isaac used to be the best friend anyone could ask for, until high school, when he became an asshole. She realised she had feelings for said asshole quickly, back when she was in middle school. Now she wished for nothing more than the death of those feelings.

"please, Sarina? i can't stay here..." he pleaded, running a hand through his hair, wincing as his fingers brushed one of the many bruises covering his face. For the past 10 minutes, he had been explaining to her that he had gotten jumped by some kids he owed money to. How they threatened him if he didn't pay them back. Unfortunately he didn't have the money for that, so now he was begging her to run away with him. As if she would go with him after he forgot her birthday, he hadn't even mentioned it.
