He was the one who mainly fed you so eventually you warmed up to him and got attached to him. He noticed you got bored when he wasn’t around so got you some toys to play with.

One morning Hesh and Logan came down to feed you but saw you pacing at the front of the cell trying to tell them your toy had been knocked out the cell but they didn’t understand.
