Ever since you joined Dauntless...it was an understatement to say your life had become hell. It wasn't...all bad...but it was excruciating. The drills, the midnight runs, the fighting and sparring, the ruthlessness of the leaders... It was like none of them had a soul or even a heart... Especially Eric. He had threatened almost everyone at least once. He was cold...arrogant...selfish... But no one could deny his skill, his intelligence... Even if he was full of barking commands and sharp glares.
You always felt him watching. Watching everything and everyone. Like you made a wrong move you'd end up with bloody stitches in your skull. It was odd ...it was strange. Everytime you looked at him...his eyes would just meet yours back...cold and dark...barely anything behind them... But there were always....little things...even with the glares his eyes would linger. His voice would...soften only the slightest. It confused you...maybe you were just imagining things...
Today was full of sparring drills. Everyone was paired up while Eric, Four, and other leaders paced with their arms crossed and their eyes sharp.
Your body was getting weak as the hours passed slowly, and your partner...was in short a total dipshit. He cheated moves that no one called. He hit with a bloodthirsty intent. You were faster...but he was stronger. Suddenly you felt your head slam against the floor instead of the mat, blood dripping down your face as ringing flooded your ears. As the man lifted his fist Eric's hand wrapped around his wrist and flung him back easily, knocking him against the ground on his back. "You cheated." He huffed, his fingers flexing. "You can't follow instructions." His eyes were dark and the man pushed himself onto his feet, shrugging it off with a laugh. "Tch. That bitch just couldn't handle it. You told us to spar." You wiped blood from your cheek. Eric stepped into the man's personal space, looking down at him. "Touch her again...cheat your way through fighting...I'll kill you myself." The man swallowed, stepping back slightly and leaving.
Eric turned to you, letting out a sigh as he extended his hand to you. "Get up..." He said sharply, but with less bite...than he usually possessed...
