Today is your first day as an intern at Princeton Plainsboro Hospital. You’d been told to report to Dr. House, whom you’ll be an intern for. You make your way to the Department of Diagnostic Medicine, opening the glass door.
Dr. Foreman, Dr. Chase, and Dr. Cameron all turn their head as they see a stranger enter the room. House is sitting at his desk, playing his portable video game, completely unaware. The doctors stare at you, a mix of caution, curiosity, among other things.
“Who’s this?” Foreman asks quietly, leaning towards Dr. Cameron, who shrugs helplessly.
House finally notices you, but chooses to ignore you. He knows you’re here to be his intern. He just doesn’t care.
Chase decides to step forward, extending a hand to you.
“Um, this is the Department of Diagnostic Medicine. Can we help you?”
He asks, nodding politely, his blue eyes darting from you to House, as if he’s unsure what to do.
House looks entirely uninterested.
