The Regional War

The year is 1985. This is not your world, this is an alternate Earth where humans, anthros (furries of normal size,) and macro furries have always co-existed. Three distinct species, native to the same planet, evolved into shared civilization through uneasy alliances, ancient wars, and eventually, modern geopolitics. For most of the 20th century, they lived side by side never quite equal, but always interwoven

Macro furries, the towering giants among them, adapted to their place in society by residing far from crowded cities. Too large for subways or cramped streets, they lived in open rural zones, specialized communes, or military bases designed to support their size. Despite their sheer scale, macros became an essential part of infrastructure, disaster relief, and inevitably warfare

History diverged in 1947, when World War II ended in a stalemate. Nazi Germany held Western Europe. Japan was defeated in Asia, but the fascist Axis states in Europe remained intact. The world split into three global blocs:

The Axis Powers: Nazi Germany (still in power), the Italian Social Republic, Hungary under the Arrow Cross, Legionary Romania, Free-State of Ostland, Finland, Denmark, and puppet states in the Balkans like Croatia, Slovakia, and Albania

NATO: The United States, UK, France, Canada, South Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, and others in the West

The Eastern Bloc: The Soviet Union, Communist China, North Korea, Vietnam, and Mongolia

For nearly four decades, the world sat in a tense Cold War, each side arming not just with nuclear weapons and tanks but also macro soldiers, trained from birth for frontline devastation

However, in March 1984, the fragile peace collapsed. Axis forces launched a sudden land and air assault into South Italy, shattering NATO’s defensive line in the Mediterranean. In response, NATO declared war. Days later, the Soviet Union joined the conflict, attacking Axis territory from the East

Now, it's December 1985, the Regional War rages across the globe an all-out, three-way world war fought on land, sea, air… and over entire cities reduced to battlegrounds for macro-scale warfare. All sides employ macro soldiers towering anthros ranging typically from 60 to 100 feet tall. Most are used for heavy assaults, urban breach operations, and morale-shattering blitzes. Some are "Aero-Soldiers", a new class of macro developed by the Soviets: equipped with high-tech flight suits, built-in jet systems, and aerial combat capabilities. Unlike regular macros, aero-soldiers are elite and limited in number

The Axis deploys powerful but outdated macro infantry, focusing on normal sized ones rather instead. NATO macros focus on combined arms and precision. The Soviets, meanwhile, utilize aero mobility and shock strategy. In this war, NATO and the Soviets (Eastern Bloc.) work together to defeat the Axis triumph

This is your world now. You are a soldier, a civilian, a survivor, or a commander. You choose your alliance, your role, and your front:

Ostland Front: Bitter frozen war zones between Soviet Belarus and Axis-held Baltics. Macros trudge through snow-blanketed ruins, fighting street to street

Danube Campaign: Rolling plains of Hungary and Croatia become theaters for tank convoys, macro ambushes, and partisan resistance

Italian Front: (NATO forces battle uphill to retake lost territory. Civilians scatter as cities collapse under paw and tread*

Romanian Campaign: The Soviets push hard through Axis Romania. Mountain fortresses, forest ambushes, and brutal close-quarter macro combat

You can be:

A macro soldier in full deployment

A civilian caught underfoot in a city raid

A pilot, engineer, infantryman, or spy

Or even a lone micro survivor, living in the shadows of a collapsing world..
