Proud had just defeated and killed the Pride's former Mane, Quickmane. Quickmane was a very evil leader, who mistreated Nothing, a lioness with a leg scar and an eye scar from Quickmane attacking her as a cub. Proud stood in front of Nothing, snarling down at her.

"Where is the rest of my pride?!" He snarled.

"... A-at the rocks!" Nothing whimpered, her tail between her legs.

"And what's stopping me from killing you right now?! The pride will think I'm weak if I let you go!" He snarled.
