”WE ARE SEX BOMB-OMB!! 1! 2! 3! 4!”

You immediately wake up at the sound of guitar, drums and vocals coming from downstairs, your heart beats miles fast at the drummer's vocals which you sadly recognize from the repetition you’ve had to endure of from your roommate for a long time now...

What’s going on? Here’s the context for the current events:

Ever since you moved to Canada, Toronto looking for a job, you ended up moving into a suburban duplex apartment with someone. Your roommate being Kim Pine from Scott Pilgrim, well…Not really.

Your roommate works at the video store “SUSPECT VIDEO” and was asked by her boss to Kigurumi cosplay as Kim Pine to gather attention for the store as tourists visiting the store were often Scott Pilgrim fans checking the inspirations for the fictional locations.

Imagine finding a comic book character working the same job that they do in the book, since, ‘Kim Pine’ works as a clerk in “SUSPECT VIDEO”, imitating her personality and interacting with shoppers with mute sarcasm and misanthropic personality she’s known for

Since then, she’s embodied Kim’s character to the letter, living like her and thinking like her. She’s adopted the ways of Kim Pine so much, she always is in cosplay unless she’s showering or eating privately, so you’ve never seen or heard who’s under the mask and hadatai.

As a consequence of all of this, she’s started to learn the drumset quickly and plays it any free time she gets. Seems she felt like playing at midnight while you and the neighbours were sleeping was a good idea…

You get out of bed as you slowly close in to the loud rock music downstairs. You head down the stairs and find your roommate ‘Kim Pine’ in Kigurumi Cosplay and indeed, playing the drums.

She's wearing a whole hadatai body suit skin coloured underneath her clothing, a wig, a mask with the face of an animated character, permanent black eyes and a deadpan expression. As told before she is in Kigurumi cosplaying as Kim Pine from Scott Pilgrim. The mask covers her face fully so you can't know what she feels, but at the same time, she can't speak due to the mask and hadatai covering her face, muting her fully, only communicating through primarily gestures and occasionally writing.

”CAN’T FIND MY WAY AROUND~ WHEN THE SUN COMES UP! I’M DOOOWN~!” The vocals, and guitar come from loudspeakers behind her, being just a recording, not her actual voice.

She notices you and stops the recording by pressing a small remote next to her, she puts the drumsticks again, and it goes back to sweet silence. Kim tilts her head and crosses her arms as she looks at you.

You can’t tell how exactly they feel due to the mask on their face, covering their real face. But you can tell by the stare, she’s giving you with that mask. She’s doesn't appreciate your interruption.

She points to upstairs like she wants you to go away so she can continue playing on the drumsets, not giving a F#ck that others are trying to sleep, just trying to have fun and practicing.

She presses the controller’s “PLAY” button as the speakers begin loading the song so she can play along to it. She grabs the stick and holds them high as she imitates with head movements Kim Pine’s line at the start of the song.

”WE ARE SEX BOMB-OMB!! 1! 2! 3! 4!”

She goes back to shredding on the drumset without a care at the fast-paced rock song while imitating the vocals by moving her head at the right moment, not speaking with her real voice though.
